Judaism is less concrete than some forms of Christianity about what exactly is going to happen to all of us - Jews, friends, and enemies - at the end of days. Certainly, we believe that there will be some kind of restoration of Jerusalem, Israel and the Bais Hamikdash (Temple). (I believe our being here in Israel is part of that plan!)
When that happens, just as in the previous Temple, non-Jews will be welcome to join us to study and pray. I hope we'll see you there! :-)Tziviahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11828930310967808828noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5111375769586013316.post-56433305321131544682017-01-26T21:58:49.972-08:002017-01-26T21:58:49.972-08:00As an Australian non-Jew I have been far more perp...As an Australian non-Jew I have been far more perplexed than you Tzivia. However I do sincerely thank you for bringing at least some clarity to my mind.

Just a thought (or two). When Israel "outrageously" expanded its territory on two occasions, it came about from being attacked by surrounding enemies. Daniel's enemies plotted his demise but it was they who perished in the den of lions.

Thus far each successive attack has resulted in an increased gain in your territory. I believe that there is yet to be a third plot to annihilate Israel with a war that this time will finally silence your surrounding hostile neighbours.

The instigation of this war is described in Psalm 83. Here we read of the plot and the petition, but in Isaiah 11:14 we are probably learning of the outcome. I bow to your better knowledge of Israel's ancient history Tzivia, but is this third and final Providential expansion not the restoration of the territory pertaining to the original kingdom of David?

John Snoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5111375769586013316.post-76480773961454862252017-01-17T00:30:50.417-08:002017-01-17T00:30:50.417-08:00Have you read the post? Israel's "expans...Have you read the post? Israel's "expansion" into the area east of the 1948 borders was the result of being attacked. In a war. See above; it had nothing to do with annexation. Additionally, see above re Abbas's comment: Israeli homes in the area have nothing to do with whether or not there is peace. This I absolutely believe.
I have seen ideas for a single-state solution in which Arab citizens who are currently living under PA rule become Israeli citizens. That may be what you're referring to. But that would be an official move to annex the area, which cannot take place under current conditions.
By the way, all Palestinians within the original 1948 borders were offered citizenship with the establishment of the State of Israel. Jewish Palestinians accepted; so did many Arab Palestinians, both Christian and Jewish.
Those who did not, thanks to manipulation by Arab states who told them they'd be back home soon, and that a refugee problem would put pressure on the nascent Jewish state, are in an unfortunate position compared to their cousins who accepted Israeli citizenship. This is a sad situation, but not one that Israel can fix in any way I can see, since Israel didn't create it.
p.s. I'm told also that many Arabs living under the PA wish they could be Israeli citizens, but of course, that could be biased. Certainly, it seems like as many as possible are leaving for other countries, particularly Christians who don't relish the idea of remaining with the current Arab leadership in charge.

Thanks for stopping by!Tziviahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11828930310967808828noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5111375769586013316.post-67756974828650968072017-01-17T00:23:14.770-08:002017-01-17T00:23:14.770-08:00Wow, thank you.
